Frozen

Frozen is an animated movie from Disney studios. It tells the story of two sisters, fighting isolation and winning love in the end.

Litte princess Elsa has the power to bend the forces of winter to her willings. When she plays with her sister Anna, an accident happens - she hits Anna with her power and now the little girl is dying. The king of Arendelle and his queen take both girls to the trolls who remove the injury from Anna's head and at the same time the knowledge of Elsa's abbilities. Now Elsa spends her time alone, forced to live in constant fear. Anna doesn't even know why her sister turned from her. When their parents die in a sea storm, Elsa becomes the only family for Anna. And she is shut behind her doors. Anna must live in lonely castle but doesn't even know how much her sister suffers.

When Elsa is about to be named the queen of Arendelle, the gates of the castle are open again and Anna dreams about real people and maybe some purdy pretty man. She stumbles upon prince Hans, in whom she imediatelly falls in love. When she goes to Elsa to get her blessing over hers and Hans' marriage, Elsa refuses, knowing that no one marries after one day of knowing each other. Sisters quarrel and Elsa unleashes her powers, putting whole kingdom under eternal winter. She runs in the mountains, when she throws away the past and is eventually free, for the first time in forever. She creates the gigantic ice castle and changes her appereance, like she wanted to say that she leaves everything behind and now the real life begins.

Anna goes after Elsa to ask her to thaw the freeze over the kingdom but she looses a horse and snow doesn't let her move normally in the mountains. She meets Kristoff, who agrees to lead her to the Elsa's castle. Kristoff is befriended with a raindeer named Sven who seems to understand his every word. While journeying they meet one of Elsa's living snow creation - a snowman Olaf, who takes himself with them.

When they arrive, Elsa doesn't want to hear about returning to Arendelle, stating that only here she is not afraid and completely free. But after news from sister that kingdom is set in eternal winter, she looses her grip and hurts Anna once again, this time in the heart. Of course it's not intentional but Anna, after being shoo-ed away by a snowgiant made by Elsa, starts to feel worse and worse. Kristoff takes Anna to his troll family when the troll leader says that only true love can prevent Anna from turning into ice. Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven rides to Arendelle to give Anna Hans medication, as the girl is sure that he is her true love.

In the meantime Hans sends soldiers to the Elsa's castles and they, after short battle with queen's forces, capture her and imprison in the dungeon. Hans asks her to thaw the snow but Elsa can't, she doesn't know how. When Anna arrives it comes over that Hands doesn't love her at all, he only wants throne for himself, as he can't count on it in his own kingdom, having twelve older brothers. He leaves freezing Anna on the floor and goes to sentence Elsa to death.

Elsa breaks free and releases huge snowstorm, while Olaf finds Anna and assures her that it's Kristoff who truly loves her. Kristoff tries to find Anna in the storm but it's Elsa who is firstly found - by Hans. He tells her that she killed Anna and tries to kill Elsa but Anna stops him, standing between Elsa and Hans' sword - turning in this time into ice statue. Elsa cries over iced sister and then the true love of sisterhood brings Anna back to life. Elsa starts to understand that it's love that will help her control her powers and unfreezes the kingdom.

Everything ends well, Elsa become more comfortable with snow and ice creating, becomes good snow queen and Kristoff kisses Anna for the first time.

For me, Frozen is unique Disney tale, which later was joined by Moana. No damsels in distress anymore, no men saving them. More, women working hand in hand, on the same level, to rescue what they need to save. Plus princess without love interest is new in Disney world. Disney appearently decided - like in Moana case - to create stronger, more independent women. And as we see from success of Frozen, it was great turn. Making the partners love into siblings love has much more power and impact too, allowing us to see that we don't need princes on white horses, sometimes pure family/friendly love is enough. The same was observed in recent Maleficent movie, though fanbase turned motherly love into lesbian love. Curse you, shippers.
